Casual Engineering Project Mentor

We're looking for a casual project mentor to work with a group of Year 11 students over the next few months. This mentor will work to develop the students' technical and soft engineering skills working through an engineering project. Experience with electrical or mechanical engineering would be very helpful. Apply today.

Responsibilities:
  • Travel to and from schools to deliver learning content and mentor students
  • Manage classroom behaviour in an appropriate manner
  • Represent Broader Learning in a professional manner especially in an in-school context
  • Communicate effectively with students, schools, project stakeholders, parents and other team members
A successful applicant will:
  • Hold a current NSW driver's licence and own or have access to a car
  • Be passionate about teaching and helping students to learn
  • Have strong, proven communication skills
  • Have some experience working with students, in a school or an educational context
  • Have some experience working on engineering or STEM projects
  • Currently be studying engineering or related field
  • Have a paid Working With Children Check or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing
  • Have no criminal record or judgement that excludes them from working with children
  • Be able to think on their feet and solve problems quickly
  • Be able to maintain composure and work well in new or unfamiliar circumstances
